  • What materials do I need for the course?

    Canvas: 11"x14"

    Novacolor, Liquitex, Golden or similar acrylic paint. Color List: Titanium White, Paynes Gray, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Red Light, Cadmium Red Medium, Deep Green, Ultramarine Blue, Carbazole Dioxazine Violet, Alizarin Crimson, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Raw Umber Deep. (or similar/names vary)

    Synthetic Brushes, golden taklon or similar: at least one each of small, medium and large size, Flat, and Round styles. (Blick has an Essentials Value 12 Brush Set, Jerrys Artarama has a Staccato 15 Brush set, and Amazon has lots of inexpensive sets.) AND, One Princeton or similar script liner brush #1.

    Transfer/carbon paper
    A printout of image you are going to paint, 11x17, on plain paper, which is easier to transfer
    Ball point pen, chalk or chalk pencil, coated paper plates, paper towels, plastic water container for brushes, plastic cover for table. Floor or table easel. (you can work flat for paintings this small, if necessary.)

  • Is this course suitable for beginners?

    Yes! Beth is very thorough in her explanations of each step.
    Students of all abilities can benefit from Beth's expertise, and 25 years' in-person teaching experience.

  • How long do I have access to the course?

    There is no expiration date!

  • How do I access the course content?

    Once enrolled, you will receive a welcome email, with a temporary password. Create your own password, and log in! It's that simple!

  • What if I have questions during the course?

    Replay the video, as many times as you need. Sometimes just listening carefully, without a brush in your hand helps, too. Beth has also written all the instructional steps in text, within each lesson.

  • Are there live sessions or is the course pre-recorded?

    This is a pre-recorded course, with the option of multiple replays! No live sessions are planned at this time. All of our videos also include written lessons for the hearing impaired or learners who simply prefer reading directions.

  • How long is each lesson?

    Each individual lesson varies from 10 to 20 minutes. Each Course, with Paintalongs and Bonus Features, include 2-3 hours of content.

  • What techniques or styles will I learn?

    We will be painting in a realistic style, with an impressionistic feel and emphasis on color. Techniques will include: Color Mixing and Blending, Brush handling, Creating highlights and shadows, Perspective, Horizon Lines, Composition, Focal Points, Creating Texture, Stippling, Scumbling, Dry Brush, Wet in Wet techniques, and much more!

For 25 years, Beth Zink has taught acrylic painting to adults. She has a following of students who enjoy her entertaining teaching style. Thousands have taken her workshops and classes, and Beth's goal, with her "Painting Coach" Online Classes, is to reach students unable to learn in person. Beth loves sports, and knows the importance of a good coach, in building success. Her teaching style is similar to that of a coach: enthusiastic, encouraging, engaging, and fun! She guides students through the painting process, with her shortcuts, tips and tricks. A natural teacher, Beth shares in her students' joy, success and confidence. An accomplished and renowned painter herself, Beth truly enjoys sharing her love of painting.
